Diagnosis
Diagnose four different stages of employee development based on specific work goals or tasks, as well as their work abilities and willingness:
- D1 (low ability, high willingness),
- D2 (average ability, low willingness),
- D3 (high ability, uncertain willingness),
- D4 (high ability, high willingness).
Determine whether employees need guidance or support through these four stages of development.
Matching
Managers need to adjust in real-time according to the different stages of employee development and match the appropriate leadership form when employee abilities or willingness change: S1 (directive type) S2 (coach type) S3 (support type) S4 (authorize type).
Establish partnership
Managers need to have the ability to establish partnerships and proficiently use “one-on-one” dialogue skills to reach consensus on the leadership styles needed to help employees develop and achieve personal and company goals.
